レアジョブ32 IELTS Speaking

How was your day?と聞かれていつも答えにつまる。仕事に行って・・・、忙しかったけど・・・、子供らが風邪ひいてて・・・。未だにこんなことしか言えないのは自分でもどうかと思うのだけど。

数分話した後はIELTSのspeaking対策。

Can you tell me about the things you love to do during your free time?

Can you tell me what are the books that you like to read?

Can you also tell me, how often do you use the internet?

Can you tell me if people should believe everything that thery read on the internet?

Part2
Talk about an interesting building in your country.
 -Where is it located?
 -What is it used for?
 -Explain why you think it is the most interesting?

Part3
Can you tell me if there are old building in your hometown? And can you discribe it to me?

Can you compare the differences between buldings that are created 20 years ago to buldings that are constracted recently? Describe to me in detail the design, the structure and the colors.

Can you compare the differences between a house and an apartment?

レアジョブ31 Writing Task2

F先生
実に4月2日以来のwriting添削レッスン。さすがに仕事復帰＋20日頃まで繁忙期と慣らし保育とかで書く時間も余裕もなかったからなぁ。でもとにかくwritingの点数を上げないことにはどうしようもないので、また書いて添削お願いするというリズムを作っていかないと。

今回のお題はこれ。

ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

Do you think the advantages of having a car outweigh its disadvantages?

disadvantageサイドで下記のように構成。

Introduction

BODY1 disadvantage1 :expensive

BODY2 disadvantage2 :ecological

BODY3 advantage :convenient

Conclusion

今日の指摘

・333words書いてたら長すぎると。280-290 wordsで十分。

・スペルミス　traffic, their(よくthierと打ち間違える)

・too expensive → extremely expensive

・CO2 → carbon dioxide　*省略形は使わない。

・strong points → positive points

　

　*BODY3でadvantageを言い換えようと思ってstrong pointと書いたら、論をひっくり返しているみたいとのこと。strongまで言っちゃうと全体としての意見がadvantageサイドになるって。というわけで反論に言及するときはpositive pointで。

レアジョブ29,30 IELTS Speaking

C先生

振替使って50分レッスンのつもりだったけど、赤ん坊が泣き出して40分で終了。

IELTS SpeakingのPart2をたくさん練習。
とにかく2分はちゃんと話すようにと。

この先生、IELTS用のテキストを見ながら問題を出してくれているみたいなんだけど、Part2なのに問題がほぼ口頭だけで全文はタイプしてくれない。まあいいけど。それ以外はきっちりやってくれる。

今日の問題（3はいまいちの出来だったので、2回回答）
1. Tell something about a person you would like to meet.
2. Tell something about a fun trip you had.
 -Where?
 -Why you like it?
 -What made it worth remembering
 -What part of the trip you would like to repeat.
3. Discuss a public ocassion you attended.
 -When, Where , What was the event all about, What do you remember the most about the event?
4. Recall an instance when you gave someone a gift.
 - what, to whom, why that gift, was the gift appreciated?

C先生

IELTSのSpeaking対策をお願いしたんだけど、単にテスト形式に則ったロールプレイングではなく、 Compare or Contrastの練習をした。similarityとdifferenceをnotやlessを使って表現してみようと。
これはいい練習だったなー。文法はともかく語彙が足りないというご指摘でした。

1分くらいで下記の質問に回答するという練習。

Questions/Topics for practice:

1. An online class to a traditional class

2. A good boss and a bad boss

3. Is it better to eat meals at home or in the restaurants?

4. Is it more enjoyable to watch movies at home or in the cinema?

5. Is it better to study English in your own country or in an English-speaking country?

 

Points to consider:

> WHY - reason/s why are you showing the difference of the items/characters

> WHAT - what aspects are you (comparing) contrasting

> HOW - how will you compare the items/characters, consider the structure.

compare directly by using certain phrases such as...

there's no difference between ...

there's little to choose between ...

they're much the same ...

to tell the difference ...

to tell apart ...

as against ...

in contrast to ...

on the other hand...

G先生（初）

寝かしつけで寝落ちしてしまい10分遅刻・・・。先生ごめんなさい。
初めての先生なので、謝りの後は自己紹介から。

この先生は特にIELTS対策できるとは書いていなかったんだけど、職種が似ているので選んでみた。

時間がなかったこともあって自己紹介の後は、お互い2つずつ質問してみましょう、会話の練習になるからという先生の提案によりフリートーク。

A先生（初）

子供がよく寝てくれそうだったので、先週ほとんどできなかった分を取り戻すべく振替レッスンで今日2コマ目。
初めての先生なので、自己紹介から。先生は29歳で娘が10歳って。え？

part2形式の問題×3。
一通り答え終わってからか、言い淀んだときに正しい表現を教えてくれてとてもよかった。
質問のここの部分が抜けてたよとか、ここはもうちょっと詳しくとかアドバイスも細かいし。

文法と発音はいいから、語彙増強ねって。質問には詳細に答えようって。
確かに、レアジョブでIELTS対策はできても、レッスン時間外での修練が不足しているんだろう。いつも同じことをアドバイスされている。
瞬間英作文とwritingの時間を増やさないとね。
