レアジョブで初めて男の先生取ってみた。明るくてノリのいい先生。

初めてなので自己紹介から。

intermediateのconversation material。お題はtraveling。

先生が先週いったという島の写真を見せてくれた。How beautiful!
5時間かかって、ホテルとか何もないからテントで寝たらしいけど、21時頃海に入って、lightening creaturesを見たんだそうな。そりゃーきれいだろうなぁ。

今日は久しぶりに音声が悪かった。途中で切れてしばらく繋がらなくなったけど、またかかってきて、トータルで25分はできた。

またintermediateのConversation material。今日のお題はHappiness。
きちんと説明しようとすると言葉につまること多々あり。
間を開けないように何か話そうとは心がけているんだけどねー。
先生に助けられつつ。。

この先生とは何度かSpeaking対策やってるけど、このPDFは始めて使ったなぁ。
このPart2対策の中からBookの質問を3つもやった。
かなり早口でところどころついて行けないんだけど。。

文法と回答の順序立てはいいけど、理由付けが弱いと。
Whyの質問が一番重要だから、もっと理由をしっかり言いましょうとのこと。

R先生(初)

自己紹介のところにはIELTSとか書いていなかったんだけど、最初の自己紹介でIELTSを受けるというとPart2の対策レッスンをやってくれた。

今日のお題はこちら。

INTERNET
        Do you use the Internet much during the day?
        What do you usually do on the Internet?
        What are some advantages of the Internet?
        What are some disadvantages?
        Do people in your country use the Internet a lot?
        Do you do any shopping on the Internet?

一通り答えるとreviewしようと言って、こちらの回答をまとめつつ、細かくチェックしてタイピングしてくれた。

* I use the internet everyday.
* I use the internet to search for information, write my blog, update my Twitter. I also use it to study English.
* Advantage: We can easily get information.
Internet services are reasonable and user-friendly.
* Disadvantages: Information on the internet is not always true or accurate.
People should be careful in choosing which information to believe.
* People in my country use internet a lot.
They use their PCs or mobile phones.
* I do internet shopping because it is very convenient.

ここまででチェック終わり。
Answer is good, but you can add more advantages and disadvantages.
というわけで、一緒に考えながら付け加え。

disadvantage
 = Using the internet too much affects my time management.
 = Security on the internet is not guaranteed. : identity theft

淡々として落ち着いたしゃべり口ながら、きっちりフィードバックしてくれてよかったー。また取ろう。

子供が早く寝てくれたので、1コマ早いレッスンに変更。
最近はいろいろな先生を取ってみようという試み中。フリーワード検索できないので、TOEFL対応可の先生でConversation Materialを使ってもらう。

テーマはEnglish study
初めての先生だったので、授業開始時に自己紹介から英語を勉強する理由とかまで話していたので最初のフリートークが10分超えるくらいだったんだけど、その流れでこのテーマにしてくれたのかな。

最後にフィードバックをお願いしたところ、回答は基本的にはいいけど、文法が課題だねと。
次回の授業では全部のセンテンスをチェックしてチャットボックスに書いてもらえるとのこと。
今日は会話重視で特に文章を直されたりはしなかった。

レアジョブ44 role playing

G先生

またConversationをお願いしようかと思っていたのだけど、唐突にrole playingをしましょうということで、先生から提示されたお題がこれ。（articleとどっちがいいかとは聞かれたけど。）

The town council has decided that the city is in desperate need of an economic boost. They believe that by making the city more attractive to tourists they will be able to achieve their aims.
You are a representative of ABC company who is looking to gain the contract for this development from the council. I want you to give a presentation explaining why your company is the best one for the job. Your aim is to convince the representative of the council that your company offers the best solution.

生徒：President of ABC company : consulting company
先生：Council member

The city is famous for organic farming and natural resources.

ロープレは初めてやったけど、しかも唐突に。すごく鍛えられる感じはするなぁ。
実際に仕事とか状況をこちらが提示してやるのもいいのかも。
現状、私にはまだ必要ないけど。

一応最後にフィードバックをお願いしたところ、間が多かったけど、文法的なミスは気がつかなかったし、アイデアはよかったとのこと。初めての挑戦、しかも準備なしにしてはまあよかったかな。

いつもの先生たちの予約が取れなかったので新規開拓。
現在フリーワード検索ができないので、TOEFLできる先生から選んでみた。

お互い軽く自己紹介をした後、来月IELTSを受験するのでConversation Lessonを受けたいというと
どちらか選んでみてと言われたので、前者を選択。

intermediateははじめの自己紹介でレベルを判断されたのかな？
結果的にはちょうどよかったかな。全くのフリートークよりは試験問題に近いような練習ができるし、会話自体も楽しめる。
試験対策なので、できるだけ間が空かないように、間違えたら言い直すように気をつけて話してみた。

5)What are the courses in the university commonly taken by males? Why do you think they take these courses?
のところで、
female : literature, education
male : natural science, politics, finance, accounting
Because female are more emotional and male are more rational.
という話をしたら、フィリピンでは案外、差がないんだそうな。女性でも自然科学(化学とか工学とかでも)を専攻にする人は多いと。意外。
